SkyChase Pictures Signs Award Winning Director of Photography

Gainesville, GA (PRWEB) May 4, 2004 -- SkyChase Pictures is pleased to announce it has attached, Matt Siegel, an award winning Director of Photography (DP), to the summer production of BLACK OASIS, a 20 minute dramatic thriller to be shot in High Definition (HD). The producers hope it will perform well at film festivals and HD broadcast outlets. This films visual style is essential to the story, and Matt has the creativity and expertise we need, says Andrew Lewis, Executive Producer. His expertise with HD filmmaking is another great asset. Once reading the script, Matt wanted on board. Its is a winner, says Matt, When I finished the read, I knew I had to be involved. This is a compelling story that reaches for powerful visuals, and thats always an exciting challenge.
The BLACK OASIS Synopsis
Meet little Emily Johnson - a daddys girl in a perfect home. One special night, Emilys father gives her a promise, There is no death, no heaven - just a beautiful Oasis, where we get a new life. Jump forward seven years to a life torn apart by divorce, a dying friendship with soul mate, Christine, and the haunting visits of new friend, Amber. With no reason to live, Emily decides to make the journey through deaths door back to the Oasis. A surprise, action packed ending reveals a chilling deception has trapped Emily in a world more isolated and broken than before - a world with only one hope of escape.
About Matt Siegel
Since completing his cinematography studies at the Academy of Drama and Film in Budapest, Hungary, Los Angeles based Matt Siegel has shot nine independent features. His short films have been screened at the 2002 Sundance and LA Film Festivals, the 2001 Slamdance and Cannes Festivals, and the 2000 Toronto Film Festival. His slate of national commercial spots have earned him JOEY, TELE awards, and advertisings highest honor, the CLIO. Matt also instructs on the use of the Aaton, Panavision film and Panasonic Varicam HD cameras. He is on the faculty at the International Film Workshops in Rockport, Maine.
