New Photography Exhibit Opens In Annapolis Maryland

Annapolis, MD (PRWEB) August 24, 2008 -- Long time resident and photographer Bill Burnette announces the opening of a photographic exhibit (http://www.flickr.com/photos/28807279@N05/) and service in downtown Historic Annapolis Maryland. The images include scenes of Annapolis, the Chesapeake Bay, the U.S. Naval Academy, St. Anne's Episcopal Church, and other prominent features, streetscapes, and natural settings.

The exhibit is located at 222 Main Street, across from the Maryland Inn and McBride's Gallery. A few of Burnette's thousands of photographs can be viewed in this exhibit and at http://www.flickr.com/photos/28807279@N05/.

Photographs can be purchased at the exhibit or by contacting Burnette at WilliamCBurnette @ aol.com. Custom service is also available. Just describe the scene or subject.

Burnette, in describing some of his photos, said, "Imagine being able to get up at dawn on a stormy Sunday morning and photographing the Maryland Statehouse, the U.S. Naval Academy Chapel, St. Anne's Episcopal Church, and the Chesapeake Bay. With the sun peeking out of the clouds over the Bay, the scenery is startlingly beautiful." Burnette captures it all.

The crying and swooping seagulls over Ego Alley, a narrow strip of water that comes right into the heart of Annapolis, ending at the Historic Market House and Middleton Tavern, bring downtown alive even before people show up.

Annapolis is a small town with a lot of history. George Washington resigned his commission in the still-standing Statehouse topped with the golden acorn that can be viewed from almost spot in town. The gold dome of the Chapel at the U.S. Naval Academy is equally useful as a landmark when exploring Annapolis' streets that radiate from the water.

Burnette's artful skill in capturing and preserving these modern day scenes from the past is mesmerizing. If you have lived in or visited Annapolis, the photographs give viewers a new perspective. If you haven't been to Annapolis yet, Burnette's photographs will start your travel plans in motion.

St. Anne's Episcopal Church has beautiful stain glass windows, including at least on by Tiffany. The sunlight shining through those windows is heavenly. The angel in St. Anne's Cemetery, with a full moon between her wings and face is unearthly.

Photographs printed 8x10, signed, and matted for your personal framing are just $60 each. Shipping and taxes are included. Checks can be mailed to Bill Burnette, 222 Main Street, Annapolis MD 21401. Email Burnette at WilliamCBurnette @ aol.com if you have a special need or request.

Is Digital Photography Better Than Classic Photography?
When it comes to photography, the digital wave is very much in evidence and yet, both operate on the same principles. Both have a lens, an aperture and a shutter. The difference lies in how the image is formed. Classic or traditional photography uses film on which the image is captured and then developed in a darkroom with chemicals to give you negatives. These need to be printed before you can see the picture in its final form. In a digital camera, you bypass all these processes because the image is captured by an electronic sensor. You aim, click and almost immediately, you can see the picture you took in the viewfinder. There is no developing, no negatives, no printing. Just the sensor which is actually millions of pixels or megapixels w...
