VERVE Gallery of Photography Launches New Web Site.
Santa Fe, New Mexico (PRWEB) August 5, 2008 -- VERVE GALLERY OF PHOTOGRAPHY in Santa Fe, New Mexico has launched its newly designed and user friendly website. The website was designed and built by the gallery owner, Wilson Scanlan. The site features the fine art photographic work of VERVE GALLERY'S contemporary photographers.
VERVE Gallery's new website incorporates many user friendly features, including a resource guide for patrons and photographers, pop up windows that define and explain photographic terms and processes, a lightbox where viewers can select from over 4,000 images to create a viewer's profile, a glossary of terms, and a promotional feature for emerging artists whereby their work is shown for several weeks on the website.
VERVE Gallery opened in Santa Fe six years ago with a new and innovative gallery concept to exhibit the work of fine art photographers. A state-of-the-art computer system enables visitors to browse entire portfolios of an artist's work on line, both at home and in the gallery. The gallery showcases artwork, catalogues and books of VERVE represented artists along with VERVE'S concurrent exhibition. Patrons can peruse through VERVE'S entire inventory of artist portfolios on a 46" high definition monitor in the gallery. The greatest benefit in providing access to entire portfolios in the gallery and on line is that a large quantity of work can be stored electronically in VERVE'S database compared to the relatively limited number of originals that any gallery can physically store on premises. At VERVE, either in the gallery or on the Internet, the benefits of the advanced computer system and newly designed website are at the patron's fingertips.
VERVE Gallery represents artists working in every photographic genre and from the four corners of the globe. VERVE'S artists include: Laurie Archer, Jeffrey Becom, Brigitte Carnochan, Manuel Carrillo, Martha Casanave, Vincent Cianni, Michael Crouser, Douglas Ethridge, Joan Gentry, Joy Goldkind, Susan kae Grant, Irving Greines, Elizabeth B. Is Digital Photography Better Than Classic Photography?
When it comes to photography, the digital wave is very much in evidence and yet, both operate on the same principles. Both have a lens, an aperture and a shutter. The difference lies in how the image is formed. Classic or traditional photography uses film on which the image is captured and then developed in a darkroom with chemicals to give you negatives. These need to be printed before you can see the picture in its final form. In a digital camera, you bypass all these processes because the image is captured by an electronic sensor.
